Kelowna residence denied short term rental licence

A four-year saga involving a residential property continues, this time with Kelowna Council denying the owners a short-term rental license.

That’s in keeping with a previous decision by the License Inspector.

The home was identified as having seven separate living units back in 2022 -without the required building permits- and the owners have also not proven this is their primary residence. Council views it as a business not a legal candidate for short term rentals. The property also does not meet the three-room maximum limit for short term rentals.

The property has had over a thousand stays in the last 12 months.
