MP weighs in on wildfire smoke

Central Okanagan–Similkameen–Nicola MP Dan Albas is weighing in on wildfire smoke, prevention and forest management in a post on Facebook.

Albas says wildfire smoke does not recognize borders and can travel depending on wind and weather conditions, impacting communities on both sides of the Canada-U.S. border.

He says forest management and wildfire prevention continue to be important discussions, while also noting human-caused fires remain a major concern.

Albas is asking residents if they feel prepared for a wildfire and whether enough is being done to reduce potential wildfire hazards in their own neighbourhoods.
