A popular pedestrian route in West Kelowna’s Rose Valley neighbourhood will be temporarily closed Monday while crews carry out watermain repairs.
The closure affects McDougall Road between Rosewood Drive and the Rose Valley Reservoir Dam.
The City of West Kelowna says the route will be closed to hikers from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 2.
Flaggers will be stationed at both ends of the work zone to direct pedestrians, but people are being asked to avoid the area while repairs are underway.
The work is expected to be completed in one day, although the closure could extend into Tuesday if crews encounter unexpected conditions during excavation.
The city says residents should not experience any interruption to their water service, as two watermains supply the treatment plant from the Rose Valley Reservoir.
