Coroner investigating Kelowna drowning

A person drowned in the lake near the Bennett Bridge in Kelowna late Monday, although the circumstances are not clear.
The BC Coroners Service took over the case and their investigation remained open.
Kelowna RCMP did not attend the scene. They learned of the incident from a concerned citizen who took video of BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) assisting an individual in the water.
EHS said they dispatched two ambulances to the scene, near the off-leash dog park, and provided emergency medical treatment to a patient who was transported to hospital in critical condition.
The person did not survive.
