Evacuation alert expanded for Bradley Creek wildfire near Westside Road

An evacuation alert has been expanded for properties near Westside Road as crews continue responding to the Bradley Creek wildfire.
The Okanagan Indian Band Emergency Operations Centre expanded the alert on the recommendation of the BC Wildfire Service as a precaution due to the ongoing fire.
The expanded alert includes:
- Properties along Bonneau Road
- Properties along Pebble Park Lane
- Properties along Louis Road
- Properties along Six Mile Road:
- 7, 11 and 13 Six Mile Road
- Properties along Marchand Road:
- 18 and 29 Marchand Road
- Properties along Royal Road:
- 7 and 15 Royal Road
- Properties on roads north of Westside Road between Bonneau Road and Komasket Road, including:
- 11282, 11284, 11298, 11300, 11304, 11310, 11322, 11324, 11332 and 11385 Westside Road
- 11450, 11452, 11454, 11458, 11482 and 11486 Westside Road
The evacuation alert is in place because of the Bradley Creek wildfire. No evacuation order has been issued, and residents and visitors within the alert area are not required to leave at this time.
Officials are reminding people in the affected areas to be ready to evacuate on short notice if conditions change.
BC Wildfire Service crews are also assessing homes within the alert area and conducting structure protection work as a precaution.
Residents are encouraged to prepare an emergency kit with essential supplies, gather important documents, medications and valuables, and make arrangements for pets and livestock if an evacuation becomes necessary.
People are also being asked to fuel their vehicles, ensure they are ready to leave quickly and discuss where their household would go if an evacuation order is issued.
Residents within the alert area are encouraged to register with Emergency Support Services in advance to help speed up assistance if they are evacuated.
