Kelowna neighbourhood grants now open for fall projects

Kelowna residents looking to bring their neighbours together can now apply for funding through the city’s Neighbourhood Grants program.
Applications are open until Aug. 31, with up to $1,500 in matching funds available for projects that build community connections and are inclusive for residents.
Past projects have included community gardens, cleanup efforts, outdoor movie nights, porch concerts and block parties.
“From community gardens to cleanup projects, outdoor movie nights to porch concerts, painting projects to block parties, we’re constantly impressed by residents’ creativity,” said Mandy Pollard, the city’s community development coordinator.
The city is also offering Youth Development and Engagement Grants, with up to $1,000 in matching funds available for youth-led projects for people ages 13 to 24. Applications will remain open until funding runs out.
Residents planning block parties or similar events can also access support, including games, planning help and funding.
