Police warn about online sextortion

Kelowna RCMP is warning young people about sextortion, an online crime where someone threatens to share intimate images unless demands are met.

Police say victims should not send money or more images, and should save messages and screenshots before blocking the offender.

Anyone being sextorted is encouraged to tell a trusted adult and report it to police or Cybertip.ca.
